Launch of Regional Academies

 

Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association announces the commencement of the first batch of training at the Regional Academy (Sagar centre) established at the MPCA ground at Sagar.

Similarly, the batch at Jabalpur centre will start from 19th May 2013.

In line with the objective of MPCA to provide appropriate facilities to the upcoming talent, the concept of the Regional Academy aims at providing periodical coaching / physical training / psychological grooming and quality match practice to the players coming from various Districts & Divisions of Madhya Pradesh.

The Regional Academy at Sagar will be the hub for the players from districts coming under Sagar / Indore / Gwalior / Chambal and Ujjain Divisions. 21 players coming from various districts like Mandasaur, Dewas, Ratlam, Tikamgarh Nagda, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Murena, Bhind, Bina, Damoh, Sendhwa are shortlisted for the first batch of U/14 players to be held from 16th to 27th May 2013.

Mr. Pravin Lokras (BCCI Level II coach) is the head coach of the Regional Academy at Sagar. Mr. Kirti Patel (former First Class and India ‘A’ player) will be the visiting facility for the Regional Academies at Sagar & Jabalpur. MPCA will also depute few other former cricketers to guide the players on the skill enhancement.

The academy set up at Sagar was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Alpesh Shah (Jt. Hon. Secretary, MPCA) and Mr. Indramohan Bhatia (founder member of Sagar Divisional Cricket Association) and Mr. Farukh Khan (Secretary, Sagar Divisional Cricket Association). Other office bearers and members of SDCA were also present for the event.

MPCA is confident of identifying many promising players from the districts who will be developed with the efforts of the Regional Academy faculty. With the facilities being made available, these players would compete in a competitive environment and emerge as assets of MPCA.

MPCA expresses thanks to the Sagar Divisional Cricket Association for their efforts to develop a fantastic infrastructure in such a short duration. We now expect the players to get the maximum out of such facilities and compliment the efforts taken by MPCA and Sagar Division.
