Message by President / Secretary

President's Desk (October 2019)

It is an absolute honour for me to be elected as the President of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association which is one of the oldest Associations of India.

I humbly express my gratefulness to all members of MPCA who have shown faith and trust in my abilities.

While I am excited by the opportunities ahead, particularly working in cohesive partnership with our Members, Players, Volunteers, Staff, and the well-wishers of MPCA, I am equally aware of the challenges in front of me.

Yet, having a strong team of fellow office-bearers and caring members of MPCA, who are passionate for this game as also this great Institution, is going to be my strength.

In less than a month from now, MPCA is to host a Test match between India and Bangladesh. This will be the second Test match of MPCA after the 'Maiden Test' played in October 2016 between India and New Zealand.

MPCA has a strong edifice of contributors who come forward zealously to organise International events. As a sports journalist, I have covered several matches played under the auspices of MPCA, and at every occasion I have cherished the camaraderie among the group. The memories of the first ODI at Nehru Stadium in December 1983, of which I was a small part, are still fresh in my mind.

Talking about the India – New Zealand Test, that game had set an example in terms of mammoth footfall for a five-day fixture in India. More than a lakh of cricket fans visited Holkar Stadium over a period of four days of exciting cricket. The arrangements on part of MPCA were scrupulous and this helped in earning laurels for our Institution.  I thank all those who had organized the Test so well.

I look forward to working with all stakeholders of MPCA to shape the future of cricket in Madhya Pradesh, the soil which has a proud history, legacy, and rich tradition. We all need to take it to new heights with a sense of greater responsibility and positive approach.

After all we are a TEAM MPCA !

With warm personal regards and best wishes for the festive season ahead !
